First San Francisco.

Then Brooklyn.

And now Palo Alto!

We’re very happy to share that we’re opening our first school on the San Francisco Bay Peninsula in downtown Palo Alto.

We found a fantastic space in downtown Palo Alto at 930 Emerson Street.

The building will have four classrooms and we are accepting applications for Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.

AltSchool offers three educational programs:

  • Lower elementary program (Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten and Kindergarten/1st grade)

  • Upper elementary program (2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grade)

  • Middle school program (6th/7th/8th grade)

We have room for about 80 students and we’ll be launching the four classrooms based on demand from families in the area.

IMG_2544At AltSchool, we’re focused on building a community within and amongst our micro-school sites, whether that’s across the city in San Francisco, down 101 in Palo Alto or across the country in Brooklyn. That community manifests in best practices shared between teachers, learning experiences shared between students, and educational resources and camaraderie shared between parents. Through technology, we’re able to make connections between each and every classroom, both literally and figuratively.

Being in the heart of Silicon Valley affords our students incredible experiential learning opportunities: whether that comes in the form of a partnership with local technology companies or a field trip to a baseball game at Sunken Diamond at Stanford.
